A reflection read out by Fr Mullane at mass last night

Shine me a light in the darkness
When the way I just cannot see
Give me an anchor to hold on
When the waters are troubling me.
I need a light in the tunnel
Can’t wait to get to the end
O Saviour, I need You right now
I know You’re a faithful Friend.

I know that You hear when I call
You never have turned me away
O shine me a light in the darkness
Dear Lord, as I humbly pray.
When others don’t understand
When they say there are worse than me
Not knowing I need a strong hand
Not seeing the things, I have seen.

Not knowing the depths of my pain
The despair and the anguish within
O Lord, send Your comforting presence
Please help me to stand again.
Let my prayer come before Your throne
Arise, Lord, with healing wings
O shine me a light in the darkness
That my soul once again may sing.
